The Ámbito Vera project
The old floors of Altadis in Seville's Los Remedios neighbourhood are facing one of the largest urban renewal operations in the city with the development of Ámbito Vera, a project with a budget of 25 million euros that is being carried out by KKH Property Investors.
The project seeks to redefine the neighbourhood's connection with the rest of Seville through a combination of tertiary uses, public spaces and pedestrian mobility solutions.
The intervention includes the construction of a luxury hotel, three offices, the central building known as The Cube, a civic square, a pedestrian footbridge which will link Los Remedios with the historic centre and the creation of a new green areas, creating a new urban pole in the surroundings of the old factory.
Among the highlights is the luxury hotel, designed by the architect Carlos Ferrater, with eight floors and 210 rooms.
Another flagship element will be The Cube, by Kengo Kuma, with a surface area of 14,000 square metres.
The area will also incorporate a set of office buildings: the refurbishment of Rama 1 and Rama 2, together with the construction of a third building. Each will be around 2,000 square metres in size and will be designed by Ruiz-Larrea Architecture.
The project also includes the Civic Square, also called Plaza de las Cigarreras, also designed by Kengo Kuma, and scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025.
In terms of connectivity, the future pedestrian walkway has been designed by the Spanish engineering firm Phecor, directed by José Romo, in collaboration with Kengo Kuma. The infrastructure is financed by KKH with an investment of 5 million euros and will be implemented by the Seville City Council.
