What is the QuirónSalud Córdoba Hospital like?
In 2018, the construction of the QuirónSalud Hospital in Córdoba was completed, a project of JANUARY Architecture which marks an architectural landmark in the city. This hospital not only stands out for its modern and sustainable design, but also for its integration with the urban and archaeological environment, as remains from the Islamic period were found on the site, which required a meticulous study and an innovative design that respects and values the historical context.

The hospital occupies a surface area of 18,650 m², divided into two blocks: one dedicated to technical and hospitalisation areas and the other for outpatient care. Its facilities include 115 beds, 7 operating theatres, advanced diagnostic rooms and specialised units, such as an in vitro fertilisation room and 3 delivery units.
The layout of the two blocks, which form an angle in the structure, allows for the creation of separate entrances: the main entrance and the emergency entrance. The internal courtyards provide natural light and promote a healthy environment for patients, improving their experience and facilitating their recovery.

A distinctive feature is the building's 'skin': an aluminium lattice in bronze and gold tones that evokes Mudejar architecture and controls the entry of sunlight, optimising energy efficiency. This structure, combined with dry joints and a reinforced concrete core, contributes to the sustainability and thermal comfort of the building.
The design of the QuirónSalud Córdoba Hospital has been internationally recognised, receiving the Honourable Mention at the Yuanye AwardsThe ENERO Architecture Award, which rewards excellence in architectural design worldwide, reflects ENERO Architecture's commitment to innovation and quality.
