The Diagonal Vertical Building
Hines European Core Found (HECF)has completed renovation work on the Diagonal Vertical office building in Barcelona.
Inaugurated in 1969, it has been the headquarters of Banco Sabadell for 55 years. Now the intention is that it will house several firms looking for a prime location in the financial district of Barcelona, in the Eixample district of the city.

This historic 24-storey building is 83 metres high and was designed by the architects Santiago Balcells y Francesc Mitjansinspired by the Pirelli Tower in Milan. It was the tallest building in the city for a year, until the completion of the Torre Colón in 1970.
The refurbishment project was promoted by Hines and carried out by the architectural firm Batlle i Roig and the interior design studio Buckley Gray Yeoman. In this comprehensive refurbishment, special emphasis has been placed on sustainability, improving energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint.

In addition, it has adapted to the new trends in workspaces with state-of-the-art services such as its own app for users, a lobby with reception, meeting rooms, a gym exclusively for tenants, lockers, bicycle parking, phone booths and two green terraces with panoramic views of the city.
During these refurbishment works, Q-safety by Quirónprevención has been involved in the services of Coordinador de Seguridad y Salud y Safety Manager.
