How is the reform of the Spotify Camp Nou?
FC Barcelona has commissioned the company Limak Construction the ambitious remodeling and expansion of the Spotify Camp Nou, in a project that will transform the stadium into a modern sports venue. The construction covers a total area of approximately 220,000 square meters, with 75,000 square meters dedicated to the renovation of existing structures.
In the renovation process, the two lower tiers of the stadium have been preserved, while the third upper tier has been completely demolished and will be rebuilt. One of the most notable new features is the incorporation of a completely new roof that will cover the upper part of the stands. This roof, with a surface area of approximately 45,000 square meters, will be equipped with photovoltaic panels, which will contribute to the energy sustainability of the stadium.
The project also includes the construction of an indoor parking lot, VIP areas, commercial areas and changing rooms, which will be located around the stadium and under the new third level grandstand. In addition, the FC Barcelona museum, which is currently located outside the stadium, will be moved to the renovated grandstand 3, integrating it into the Camp Nou complex.
Once the project is completed in 2026, the stadium's capacity is expected to increase from 99,000 to 105,000 spectators, consolidating the Spotify Camp Nou as one of the largest and most modern sports venues in the world.
