What is the renovation of Spotify Camp Nou like?
FC Barcelona has commissioned Limak Construction to carry out the ambitious remodelling and expansion of Spotify Camp Nou, in a project that will transform the stadium into a modern sports venue. The construction covers a total area of approximately 220,000 square metres, with 75,000 square metres dedicated to the renovation of existing structures.
During the renovation process, the two lower tiers of the stadium have been preserved, while the third upper tier has been completely demolished and will be rebuilt. One of the most notable new features is the addition of a completely new roof that will cover the upper part of the stands. This roof, with an approximate surface area of 45,000 square metres, will be equipped with photovoltaic panels, which will contribute to the stadium’s energy sustainability.
The project also includes the construction of an indoor car park, VIP areas, commercial areas and changing rooms, which will be located around the stadium and under the new third-level stand. In addition, the FC Barcelona museum, currently located outside the stadium, will be moved to the renovated stand 3, integrating it into the Camp Nou complex.
Once the project is completed in 2026, the stadium’s capacity is expected to increase from 99,000 to 105,000 spectators, consolidating Spotify Camp Nou as one of the largest and most modern sports venues in the world.
