What is the reform of the Spotify Camp Nou like?
FC Barcelona has commissioned the company Limak Construction the ambitious refurbishment and expansion of the Spotify Camp Nou, in a project that will transform the stadium into a modern sports venue. The construction covers a total area of approximately 220,000 square metres, with 75,000 square metres dedicated to the renovation of existing structures.
In the renovation process, the two lower tiers of the stadium have been preserved, while the third upper tier has been completely demolished and will be rebuilt. One of the most important new features is the addition of a completely new roof covering the upper part of the stands. This roof, with a surface area of approximately 45,000 square metres, will be equipped with photovoltaic panels, which will contribute to the energy sustainability of the stadium.
The project also includes the construction of an indoor car park, VIP areas, commercial areas and changing rooms, which will be located around the stadium and under the new third level stand. In addition, the FC Barcelona museum, which is currently located outside the stadium, will be moved to the renovated stand 3, integrating it into the Camp Nou complex.
Once the project is completed in 2026, the stadium's capacity is expected to increase from 99,000 to 105,000 spectators, consolidating the Spotify Camp Nou as one of the largest and most modern sports venues in the world.
