The exercise took place in a particularly complex environment, with the simultaneous involvement of different services and agencies, and has helped to verify the coordination capacity between internal and external resources.

The simulated scenario, in which the 180 personnel, has recreated an accident in the bus dock area from the station. According to the exercise script, a bus in service suffered a sudden driver incapacitation, causing loss of control of the vehicle, its collision with the passenger access area, and subsequently, a fire with a localised explosion at the rear. From that point, a chain emergency was triggered with the involvement of a second bus, the blocking of the main access road, and partial obstruction of the exit ramp by an abandoned maintenance vehicle.

The technical planning for the drill has been developed by Q-safety by Quirónprevención, who has designed the exercise scenario, operational sequence, resource definition, and evaluation criteria, in coordination with the participating bodies. Their involvement has made it possible to structure a multidisciplinary exercise aimed at testing the activation of the Self-Protection Plan, evacuation management, the establishment of the Advanced Command Post, and coordination between all services involved.

The simulated situation has generated an operational scenario of maximum demand, with the presence of dense smoke, panic among users, evacuation difficulties, and the need for simultaneous attention to multiple casualties. In total, the drill has considered 33 victims, of which 3 were listed as deceased y 30 as injuries of varying degrees of severity. The planned distribution included 7 critical, 10 serious and 13 minor casualties, as well as the participation of uninjured passengers and simulated family members to increase the realism of the exercise and to test panic management, crowd control and protection of sensitive areas.

The exercise has involved the activation of the Self-protection Plan, the coordinated mobilisation of resources via 112 and the implementation of an inter-institutional command and control system.
