Q-safety by Quir\u00f3nprevenci\u00f3n<\/strong>\u00a0has organised, in collaboration with the\u00a0Asociaci\u00f3n de Promotores de Valencia (APROVA)<\/a>,<\/span> the Conference \"Developer's obligations regarding health and safety on construction sites<\/strong>The event took place at the CEV (Business Confederation of the Valencian Community) premises, located in Plaza Conde Carlet in Valencia, and brought together experts and professionals from the sector to address crucial issues related to occupational health and safety.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The conference was opened by\u00a0Mr. Juan Giner Corell<\/strong>, Councillor for Urban Planning at Valencia City Council, who highlighted the importance of health and safety in the construction industry. He also emphasised the need to invest resources in this area. According to the councillor, ensuring a safe environment is a fundamental motivation for people working in the sector.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Next,\u00a0Ana I. L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, Chief Executive Officer of\u00a0Q-safety by Quir\u00f3nprevenci\u00f3n,<\/strong>\u00a0addressed the main topic of the day: the developer's obligations regarding health and safety on construction sites. He pointed out that, unfortunately, accidents can occur on both large and small construction sites and are not necessarily related to budget or execution time. He also referred to the recent fatal accidents in Madrid, where three tragedies occurred in the course of a week, including two on the same construction site.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

He also recalled the key regulations governing health and safety in construction, such as the\u00a0Law 31\/95 on Occupational Risk Prevention<\/strong>, the\u00a0RD1627\/97<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0RD 5\/2000 LISOS (Law on Offences and Penalties in the Social Order)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

He also addressed the importance of knowing the main agents involved in a construction project, such as the developer, the builder, the project management team, and the project managers, as well as their obligations, before going on to discuss the role of the Health and Safety Coordinator in both the design and execution phases.<\/span><\/p>

The event included a question and answer session where common issues were addressed, such as the possibility of a contractor hiring the site coordinator, whether a project can have several developers, and how projects with multiple components are managed. There was also discussion on whether the developer can become the contractor when contracting in batches, how to manage projects with multiple contractors, and the importance of clauses that must be included in construction contracts.<\/span><\/p>

The day concluded with a networking and coffee break, where attendees were able to exchange ideas and experiences related to health and safety in construction.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
